Okay, this might not be the prettiest looking snack, but holy moly is it delicious! I have been having some serious cravings for oatmeal/cereal type food… at this totally HIT THE SPOT!!
And making it is so easy! All you need to remember is a ratio of 1 part chia seeds, 3 parts liquid. The liquid I used was almond milk, to make my creamy chia “pudding.” I combined a 1/2 cup of chia seeds with 1 1/2 cups of Pacific almond milk (my favorite store-bought brand). Then I added the flavors I was craving– a generous drizzle of agave nectar, a few shakes of cinnamon, and a dash of sea salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes, and– VOILA! Pudding!
I scooped about 1/2 cup into a bowl, and topped it with some pure maple syrup and another shake of cinnamon. I’m hoping it will work as a pre-workout snack. I’m about to head to the gym for my second workout of the day– I already ran 2.5 miles this afternoon, so now I’m looking to do some cardio intervals and weights! I’ll let you guys know how the chia energy works!
Chia Pudding is great! Give it a try with coconut milk, made by blending the meat and water of a young coconut together… our personal favorite for making chia pudding.
